13th Birthday Party

My daughter has been wanting to do henna here for a long time. We decided that her birthday party with her friends would be a good time to go ahead and do it. She also picked out some other activities and added to the ideas until a bunch of girls slept over. It was a huge success!

Family Birthday

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday with some family before her friends came over today.

Last night she decided to color her hair to usher in her new teenage status.

She got handmade presents from me- a mermaid tail blanket and a Dharma shark zippered pouch. (LOST is her favorite show and the shark is her favorite “character”) We also got her a ukulele bag for her uke.

She received lots of fantastic clothes, some candy, and a puzzle from family.

J is turning 40!

My husband is turning 40 and we are having a party!

The kids helped me make a big sign so people would know that our house was hosting a bday party vs. the Estate Sale being held next door.

My son helped mix and paint the blue background. My daughter helped paint and glue on plastic gems 🙂

We had a clown/ magician/ balloon guy! J. Was a great sport!

So was his dad…

We had tons of food. And cake.

It was nice so many friends and family members could come!

Wonderful Wallaby

I finished my son’s birthday present ahead of his birthday this year without staying up until 4:00 in the morning!

I wanted to make him something he would wear so together we picked out a pattern and yarn. The pattern is the Wonderful Wallaby and the yarn is Comfy from Knit Picks in the Hawk colorway. I made a size 12 which is quite big for him because he asked for it to be big so it would last a long time. The instructions were great and it came out soft and squishy. He put in on when he woke up and didn’t want to take it off.

I think I am going to add a drawstring by the neck to help it stay up when needed.

60!

J’s dad turned 60 on Saturday. To celebrate, we headed out to Dave and Buster’s for food and fun. The food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed playing the games.

4 person Pac Man.

Sketch photo booth.

Neat whack-a-mole type game that was vertical and 2 player. You race to hit the lights.

Truck dump. My daughter won it twice 🙂

“21”. She also won the jackpot on this one.

There were lots of tickets to spend from all the games. The kids picked out prizes. My son bought “Spidey” , a green spider, and my daughter bought a “Pikachu” and a monkey she named “Mud”.
