My daughter got a new puzzle for her birthday that you get to put together and then color in. I can’t think of a person this would fit better! The puzzle was quite the challenge to figure out, but she enjoyed even the tricky bits. Within minutes of it being completed, she got to work giving it some beautiful color.
My daughter has been wanting to do henna here for a long time. We decided that her birthday party with her friends would be a good time to go ahead and do it. She also picked out some other activities and added to the ideas until a bunch of girls slept over. It was a huge success!
13 is not too old for running through the sprinklers:
Piñata in the basement (to keep the candy away from all the cicada exoskeletons littering our backyard):
Fun with plastic bubbles:
Dessert and candy cigarettes (her favorite candy):
Ready for sleep:
We celebrated my daughter’s birthday with some family before her friends came over today.
She got handmade presents from me- a mermaid tail blanket and a Dharma shark zippered pouch. (LOST is her favorite show and the shark is her favorite “character”) We also got her a ukulele bag for her uke.
She received lots of fantastic clothes, some candy, and a puzzle from family.
My little girl is 10!
We celebrated for three days with family and friends 🙂
My son read poetry for everyone.
We took my daughter out for dinner and cheesecake at her request.
She dove into her presents from everyone!
My husband is turning 40 and we are having a party!
The kids helped me make a big sign so people would know that our house was hosting a bday party vs. the Estate Sale being held next door.
My son helped mix and paint the blue background. My daughter helped paint and glue on plastic gems 🙂
We had a clown/ magician/ balloon guy! J. Was a great sport!
So was his dad…
We had tons of food. And cake.
It was nice so many friends and family members could come!
This year flew by! We just celebrated my son’s 11th B-day, mixed with Halloween as usual.
We had a small family party on Saturday. The neighbor boys showed up to help celebrate and have cake 🙂
Legos, Nerf weapons, and building blocks ruled the day!
I finished my son’s birthday present ahead of his birthday this year without staying up until 4:00 in the morning!
I wanted to make him something he would wear so together we picked out a pattern and yarn. The pattern is the Wonderful Wallaby and the yarn is Comfy from Knit Picks in the Hawk colorway. I made a size 12 which is quite big for him because he asked for it to be big so it would last a long time. The instructions were great and it came out soft and squishy. He put in on when he woke up and didn’t want to take it off.
I think I am going to add a drawstring by the neck to help it stay up when needed.
J’s dad turned 60 on Saturday. To celebrate, we headed out to Dave and Buster’s for food and fun. The food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed playing the games.
4 person Pac Man.
Sketch photo booth.
Neat whack-a-mole type game that was vertical and 2 player. You race to hit the lights.
Truck dump. My daughter won it twice 🙂
“21”. She also won the jackpot on this one.
There were lots of tickets to spend from all the games. The kids picked out prizes. My son bought “Spidey” , a green spider, and my daughter bought a “Pikachu” and a monkey she named “Mud”.
The kids and I headed to Chuck E Cheese today with my dad and step-mom for 1 last b-day celebration for my daughter. We had a great time and then went to the park for a bit afterwards.
She came home and decorated her new Zhu Zhu pets.
For my daughter’s actual birthday, she and I celebrated by spending some spa time together at home. We used a kit she received to make oatmeal soaps, soaked our feet and used peppermint foot scrub, pampered our faces with honey oatmeal masks complete with cucumbers on our eyes, and had baths with a rose petal and oatmeal sachet. It was fun and she definitely wants to do it again!
We had a birthday party for my daughter on Saturday with friends and family.
My daughter asked for American Girl Doll clothes for her birthday and more specifically for the denim dress on the cover of one of the pattern books. I made the dress and then a tank top made from one of her old t-shirts. More are on the way.
J’s birthday was on Mother’s Day this year. We went out for lunch with his family to celebrate. Afterwards, the kids and I made him a cake and my son made him a present in Minecraft.
It is a birthday cake building in Minecraft, with a sign, lol.
It had 39 candles.
And more cake inside.
I got out the fabric paints this week to work on a present for one of the kids’ friends. With help from his mom, I decided to make him a new W.O.W. shirt. While I was working, my daughter joined me to make painted fabric for American Girl Doll clothes.
My daughter is getting ready… Her birthday is only 3 1/2 months away, lol.
The first bit of the list is all Zhu Zhu pets.
