Pocket Microscope

The kids got a pocket microscope as part of a bundle of science things I picked up. Before I handed it over, I decided to play around with it a bit myself. The first thing I tried it on was this card.

It was so cool! And it was a great illustration of how our eyes blend colors to see. All of the little dots making up the card were pink, blue, purple, and yellow… even in the fur and the trees. I showed it off right away!

My daughter thought is was super cool too and started to check out all the stuff in her room. Even her “brown” tree trunks had no brown dots in them!

Obviously, this only works for printed materials, our drawings and fabrics had uniform colorings.
